In addition to an extensive 40-year commercial law practice focusing on banking, corporate, health care and real estate, Judge Greisler served as a Town Justice for the Town of Colonie, Albany County from 1977 to 2000. With a larger population than several counties in the state, Judge Greisler administered an active docket of civil, commercial, landlord tenant and criminal cases during his long tenure on the bench. During that service, Judge Greisler was instrumental in developing the Youth Court program, which has grown to be an important voluntary and successful alternative to the criminal justice system for young people accused of a crime. Judge Greisler has also served as an instructor for the New York State Office of Judicial Administration and has been active in both local and New York State Bar Association activities. He continues to be active in the community and a valued resource for attorneys regionwide.
