Scott Almas focuses his practice in commercial litigation, technology law, creditors' rights, and securities arbitration and litigation matters. He litigates in both Federal and State trial courts and New York and Federal appellate courts, representing business clients in commercial and contract disputes, loan workouts, equipment leases, technology disputes, licensing and franchises, commercial landlord tenant disputes and numerous matters on behalf of businesses, creditors and trustees in bankruptcy cases. He has significant experience representing investors as well as members of the brokerage industry in securities and employment related disputes.
Mr. Almas is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. He is a member of the Information Technology Committee for the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York and is also an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealer, Inc. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Albany County Bar Association, and he is co-chairman of the Albany County Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Committee.
